Full-Time Training - Testimonies

This Blessed Opportunity, Timothy Cayford

In the summer of 1992 I attended a Christian gathering of about 3,000 people. It was for the study of the Bible and lasted for ten days. It was the first time I had ever attended such an event, and I consider it a benchmark experience in my life. There, a Christian brother named Witness Lee shared from the Word, and through his speaking a desire was instilled in me that I recognized as being the unparalleled desire of my heart: that I would be prepared to meet the Lord Jesus when the time would come. Hence, at the age of fourteen, I knew my life could only be His.

It was also during that gathering that I was informed concerning the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). Simultaneous to my desire to serve the Lord unequivocally, I determined that the Full-Time Training would be instrumental to my relationship with the Lord and my usefulness in His interest. I set it in my heart to come, and not without time and trial, I made it.

During the four terms of the FTTA, the Lord has been able to accomplish in me what I believe would have taken many, many years in my Christian life had I not gone. I am deeply grateful to the Lord for His mercy to bring me to such a place where I can be separated from so many things that distract me from the Lord Himself, a place where the Lord can shine in me to illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God (2 Corinthians 4:6), and a place where I can be made ready to meet Him.

I consider it no small thing for anybody to be able to participate in this blessed opportunity. Moreover, I am so thankful that one of those participants was me, even me.
